One of the specials at Amanecer Tapatio today is mole cosechero. I'd never heard of it before. Monica explained that it is a dish which daughters take to their fathers harvesting in the fields of La Gorita, Jalisco, Monica's mother's hometown. My friend ordered mole cosechero and received a bowl of reddish-brown sauce, rather thin, with a cigarette pack-sized piece of pork on the bone in it. Rice and beans came on a separate plate. The sauce tasted good, somewhat like chile guajillo, and the chunks of pork which came away easily from the bone with a pull of the spoon were tender.
