Restaurants & Bars 2

Astoria in Mississauga

Beermonger | Mar 30, 2006 05:19 PM

We checked out the recently opened Astoria On Dundas west of 427 today...thanks Ishmael I can now also confirm this is a sister restaurant to the one on Danforth.

We each had the pork souvlaki platter with a a shared litre of Greek wine...the portions were large, the souvlaki was very tasty and tender (with potatoes and rice) and the Greek salad was okay.

The room has a large central fireplace with one side having booths and the other sort of an airy atrium.

Service was knowledgeable, nearby when necessary but not obtrusive.

The bill came to $55 (including the litre of wine) plus tip.

I left there happy, stuffed and wondering why it was not much busier...not fine dining but a comfortable, clean and hearty meal!
