Asimov Reviews "Pam's Real Thai"

Dave Feldman | May 31, 2001 03:02 AM

I've only eaten at Pam's (46th and 9th Ave.) once and although I've had far, far worse in Manhattan, I have to say it was disappointing. Even Asimov's positive review yesterday was a little grudging, and for good reason. The five dishes we sampled were inconsistent, and even the highs were not as good as the Queens competition.

Our favorite dish, I guess, was the "Whole Fish Pam Style." It was deep fried, almost to the point of putrification, but the nonstop crunchiness was fun. The sausage salad was better than acceptable, too.

They do claim to have sticky rice most of the time for dessert, but they were out at 9:30 or so on this weeknight.
