Asian Cajun In The Hood? Well Almost

Crenshaw Bl. is actually a logical place for Chinese and Cajun food to collide. Chinese steam table food seems quite popular in the inner city, and there's more Louisiana food around here than other parts of the city. Consequently, it's probably no surprise that CE's Sandwiches has Cajun crawfish, crab and shrimp as well as Chinese food. However, that's probably not what makes CE's worth mentioning. Rather, this is the most eclectic restaurant I can recall encountering in a long time, if ever. How about Mexican food, from carne asada to home made tamales? Chinese food is not limited to the steam table but includes jook and wonton soup. And banh mi, anyone? Don't forget the "European sandwiches." And I did almost forget the donuts, bagels and bagel sandwiches. Not to mention fish on the bone (not sure which category this falls in). CE's Sandwiches is on the NW corner of Crenshaw and Washington. Street address is 4209 W. Washington Blvd., but it really fronts on Crenshaw. Since this is a few blocks north of the Santa Monica Freeway, it's technically in Mid City.
