Asia De Cuba

OK, so I made the mistake of handing over my bday planning to my very fabulous best friend. I love her to death, but she eats like a bird and is more interested in fashion/scene/ambience than food. Well, its my 25th bday and I really want a fabulous "experience" kind of place, but I want the food to be amazing, the wine to be phenomenal, and the evening to be perfect. Not much to ask, right? ;) Anyways, my friend wants us to go to Asia de Cuba for dinner and then Sky Bar for drinks. I've never been to either, and all I've heard about Sky Bar is that its pretentious and overpriced. That is not what I'm looking for at all!! So, first - does anyone have opinions on Asia de Cuba? If not, what would you recommend as an alternate? We are open to anything in LA/Santa Monica/basically anywhere between OC and the 101 (we are gathering people from Huntington Beach, Agoura Hills, and Venice Beach. Most kinds of food are great - though I'd prefer to stay away from sushi, as we have one non-fish eater with us (not a vegetarian...she just hates fish). I read a thread about Orris, and thought that sounded pretty fabulous. Price points of up to $100/person are ok as long as that included several glasses of wine/other drinks. Also, I'd like to be dressed nicely, and not look out of place (like a pretty dress and heels, guys in nice pants not jeans). Thanks!!!
