Arrrghh... What do you guys think?

So... I was in a hurry Friday a.m. and did not stop to wash and dry my 20cm Mauviel M'steel pan that I use for fried eggs. My wife was cleaning up the kitchen around noon and since she knows that the few pans that can't go in the dishwasher are usually things I stop and clean up right then when I am finished...

Yep, she put it in the dishwasher.

It is not as bad as I thought it might be. But as you can see from the pictures, there is a good bit of surface rust especially on the outer sidewalls of the pan. The uneven, streaky, patches of polymerized oil burnt onto the pan is all me.

What you think? Sand, scrub, strip the old seasoning off and try it again.
