I've hit a lot of new (to us) places in Arlington and Falls Church this week including:
Matuba (Arlington, actually 2nd visit since we went last week), good inexpensive sushi, and good service.
Pho Xe Lau at Eden Ctr (Falls Church)(I posted about today in more detail). good pho. We also got bubble drinks at another shop. mine was pinapple. :)
Tirolo (Ballston). had shnitzel, and pear/amond tart. every1 else had the salmon, which they liked. yum
Myanmar (Falls Church)is a Burmese restaurant. We had a variety of dishes including lemongrass beef, rice noodles w/chicken (in an egg based sauce), fish soup w/rice noodles (one where u add flavorings to your taste, like pho), ginger salad, curry shrimp, and a wheat based dessert. We enjoyed this place a lot. :) they gave us tamarind hard candies. yum. I leaned towards the eggy noodle dish, one person leaned towards the beef, and one loved the ginger salad, so we were all happy.
also stopped at the Italian store and lebanese taverna market for the first time. There is a bakery near LTM that has awesome looking baked goods, but we didn't get any.
we also hit el pollo rico (thursday night before they closed for the hurricane), but we've been there before a couple of times.
