Arepas Pues ??

Steve A. | Jul 29, 2003 12:42 PM

A few months ago a little brazilian place opened in astoria/LIC on 34th Avenue between 32 and 33rd Streets. I was meaning to try it and now suddenly...it is colombian!

The new name "AREPA' S PUES" and they have a variety of Arepas on the menu, as well as empanadas, etc. Not sure, but it looks like the arepa's come with rice and beans and I think the prices were all around $4-$5.

The place looks kind of cute and potentially promising, though I have never had anything but bland and greasy arepa's in my life. That's the reason I can't seem get my fluffy butt out after midnight to try to track down the Arepa Lady!

I don't know if this is just a bad location of what. Over the course of a few years it has been Puerto Rican (nice guy cooking bland food), then brazilian (never tried) -- and now colombian!

Hope it's good. will try soon and report back. Feel free to beat me to it!
