after my first experience at the octupus man's grill, my friend and i returned home, by way of roosevelt, i knew that the sainted arepa lady would not be out so early on that saturday evening, but there were many other "arepa con queso" vendors, i thought i would give it a try...

i went up to one little old man at around 81st street...after i ordered, i realized that he was drunk...oh, well...i didn't see any harm in his arepa-grilling under the, i let it be :)

so, there it was...a corncake about 6" in diameter...he put some margarine on it and then sprinkled some shredded sweet cheese...not melted

it was ok, i guess...i imagined it to be better, though...somebody tell me that the arepa lady doles out something entirely different and better...please...

dominick i was waiting for the arepas, this other guy on the corner gave us a sample of what he was selling -- this hot, white, viscous drink that tasted of looked kinda nasty, but it tasted pretty good...if anyone has any experience with this drink, please, do tell
