I'm in Brooklyn with the family for our first visit to NYC in quite a few years, and was hoping to experience either DiFara's or the sainted arepas, or both.
1. Is it sacrilege to carry out pizza from DiFara's, with, say, a 20-25 drive before eating, or would the delay make it not worth the candle? Alternatively, is it possible to seat a party of 8 on a Saturday night, and, if so, what's the best time? Are Sundays at DiFara's ok?
2. Assuming the arepa lady is not apocryphal, does she set up on Saturday nights in late January -- like, say, tonight? If so, would that be from 10:30 until . . . when? (And still at Roosevelt Ave. and 79th Street, correct?)
3. Back-up question: Any great places for four adults and four (somewhat finicky) kids in Park Slope?
Many thanks in advance -- Marty L.
