Had a terrific meal at Applewood last night-comfortable room (does that fireplace work?)-bread is served with sweet butter, tomato spread and garlic spread. Started with a flavorful butternut squash soup, then some "small plates"--ricotta dumplings with pork shoulder, sweetbreads with sweet corn risotto-both very good--the quail was tasty but nothing new. Also shared a "large plate" of duck, which was also very good. They have a small collection of wines by the glass/bottle--had 4 glasses total. Ended with a "fallen" chocolate cake - regular coffee--they don't have the espresso machine up and running yet. All for under $100.00. Good service, even after the room filled up (around 7:30)-they are closed Monday and will serve brunch on Sunday. Will have to try the fish dishes next visit. A very promising new place.
