Our neighbor used to make an applebutter cake which I love and have lost the recipe.
She made a sort of cookie (not very sweet) baked in cake pans for exact size that rose to about a half inch. The cake was made by spreading applebutter between each set of layers (usually about 8 or 10). The cake was made the day before it was to be served and the apple butter permeated the layers making a wonderful cake. Anyone have a recipe for such a cake? Thanks.
