Annual NYC visit: need suggestions

danna | Oct 29, 2003 09:21 AM

Coming to NYC the 2nd weekend in Dec. Will attempt Babbo reservations for Sunday night because I enjoyed it so much last year.

But for Saturday (and possibly Fri), I'm wide open.
I have the following requirements:

Somewhere I can reasonably expect to make a reservation on a Sat night at that busy time of year...and not at 5:30 or 10:00.

Somewhat cheaper that BAbbo, or at least no more expensive. My husband and I both love Daniel, but I don't want to head into that price range if possible.

No jacket requirement for the husband would be a big plus.

While we're at it, can we talk about lunch?...if you have suggestions for pizza, we've been to Lombardi's, John's, and Patsy Grimaldi's. Have we missed any "important" pizza :-)

Deli's...we've done Stage and Carnegie, prefer Katz, where do we need to go a little more off the tourist track?

What about bread/pastry/breakfast? We've done Donut Plant, Balthazar, City Bakery. Should we head over to Jacque Torres' place?

Thanks a million!
