Has anyone been as yet? Was there a couple of nights ago. Had 6 dishes, including desserts, and to me, save for one dish, it's some of the best and most modern cooking I've observed in Vancouver.
We had 2 apps - a kale salad and the fried chicken. Both were very popular, and the quality was a good indication why. Wasn't any old kale salad, this had 5 or 6 different components, and was well balanced and very tasty. Fried chicken was perfectly done, but could have used a more exciting sauce, if I were to offer a complaint. Trout main was perfectly cooked, nice and crispy skin, well seasoned, with good accoutrements. My beef rib, however, was a bit cold, and as a result, the texture wasn't enjoyable. Accompanying mushroom salad was exquisite - one of the best I've ever had. Desserts were exceptional as well; we had both the rhubarb compote and chocolate creme brulee. I think they were the best desserts we've had in Vancouver, if not fairly close.
Service was great, they were attentive and comp'd our desserts for the misfire on the short ribs. An unnecessary but appreciated gesture.
Very much looking forward to returning.
