I am off to Anguilla in 2 weeks and wanted to get a feeling about it's restaurants. I spent every summer of my childhood in St. Martin and have been looking for an island that approximates my memories of that island in the late 60's and early 70's (needless to say the current St. Martin scene has changed dramatically).
Many people have told me about the old Caribbean, quiet, friendly pace of Anguilla. If these stories are true then I may have found my paradise. Still, the food scene is important to me as well. I am interested in all types of meals- high end to low brow, but am particularly interested in the summer food of my youth-- Carib style Creole, Roti, Soursop, Flying Fish, Bar-B-Que, Pigeon Peas and other authentic style Caribbean foods.
