Angle of sharpening for heavy cleaver?

I have a heavy Global cleaver which I have always used for chopping pork ribs, breaking down chickens, etc. I haven't sharpened it in quite awhile, and I was going to do some work on it. The Global website says 15degrees per side. Doesn't that seem a rather steep angle for a knife that takes so much abuse? Thoughts?
