Wide range of quality at A.O. last night. Was our first time. Meal kicked off well with amiable waitor who brought couple of complimentary small tastes from the kitchen - a cold fregola tossed with chopped veggies and a small bowl of fish soup - both lovely. We ordered the famous "nonna's lasagnette" which I can only describe as a warm, creamy blob lacking flavor and texture. Main dishes consisted of grilled lamb chops on arugula - so tough, even a beautiful steak knife proved no help and the Sunday special, a veal saltimbucca which was the best dish of the night - perfectly grilled with a silky mushroom reduction. Finished with a shared tiramisu - really good, light, perfect temperature.
What to do? Don't really feel the need to drive back from the Westside. Thoughts??
