Stopped by on Monday night upon seeing that they were finally open. I had a bowl of the seafood and andouille gumbo. ($10) It was quite good and filling although I wished that it had been much much spicier. The gumbo was full of large slices of andouille sausage, shrimp, and crab. The bf had the muffalata with hush puppies.($11) We both thought this was very good. I especially liked the olive tapenade. The hush puppies were good but maybe a dipping sauce would have been nice? We also had the broccoli bordelaise just for some greens. This was really disappointing. It was plain steamed broccoli with a garlic butter dipping sauce. The broccoli was overcooked and quite pricey at $6. We were full so we didn't order dessert but the owner recommended that next time we try the bread pudding.
They did a good job with the remodeling. It felt very cozy especially with the brick wall. I also really enjoyed the music. No wine and beer permit yet but you can bring your own bottle. All in all looks like a promising place. Next time I'll try the oyster po' boy.
