Well after a fairly nice posting on this board, I decided to order from the new Pizza place on vanderbuilt; Amorina.(Awning says Cucina Rustica)
I'm sorry to say that we ordered 2 pizzas to go and they were frankly EXTREMLY mediorce, bordering on plain crummy. The dough had no flavor and the sauce was kind of pasty in texture. Frankly for a dinky little personal pizza,(I'm talking small) I think $10 dollars is way too much, but I guess we are now living in a world where people are so deluded by the going prices, that they think that is a fair price for a tiny little pizza. Frankly If it were something remotely special, I might not mind, but I'm frankly becoming sick and tired of these new Brooklyn places charging more than Manhattan prices.Another example: Beast charges $6 dollars for a small plate of olives, their wine prices are 9 to 12 dollars a glass on average.Don't get me wrong, I think that when food is great its worth spending extra for, but when middle of the road meals end up costing close to $100 dollars something is amiss in the state of Brooklyn. (I'm not of course refering to the 2 pizzas tonight) I guess that foolish consumers have become such suckers that they think that being charged ridiculous prices is some kind of privelige that somehow proves, look I'm successful and can afford to be gouged. I guess the emperor truly has no clothes.. nd a I frankly wish i had ordered from Antonio's or Joe's,
At least I would have been full.
