Amea in Cherry Hill - delicious

Sylvia G | Aug 2, 2004 12:06 PM

We had dinner Saturday evening at Amea, in the Village Walk shopping center on Rte 70 in Cherry Hill, just past Springdale Rd.

We had eaten twice at Misto, also in the Village Walk, and liked it very much. By the way, Misto has a good deal from Tuesday thru Fridays, 4 - 6 - $20.00 for 3 courses, with some nice choices. We tried it on one of our visits.

Amea is right across from Misto, and we had heard good reports. It was excellent!
Appetizers range from 6 to 12 dollars, with many in the 9 or 10 range. Pricey, but terrific. There were six of us, so we tasted many things. The beet salad, the oysters, and the mushrooms got special raves.
The appetizers are very large - definitely enough to share.

Three of us had the strip steak, since we knew it won a Best of Philly in Phila. Magazine. It was excellent, and came with decadent creamy potatoes w/cheese and grilled asparagus. Again, everyone loved what they had. We all went home with doggie bags - generous portions.
Entries ranged from the high teens to mid-twenties.

Desserts lived up to the rest of the dinner. They were out of the strudel, which we wanted, but had substituted a lemon tart as one of the choices. Lovely. We found out later that it had come from Miel, which is in this shopping center.

The six of us agreed that this is one of the best places to dine in South Jersey. Maybe the best.
