My husband and I are on vacation in Europe - we stumbled upon a terrific restaurant in Peratallada - which is a gorgeous walled city about 1 1/2 hours north of Barcelona and 1 1/2 hours south of the French border.
The restaurant's name is La Paissa d'en Cardina. We ate the best duck we've ever had - and we've eaten it lots of places - in a terrific fig sauce. Their menu del dia is 20 euros and comes with THREE first courses, a choice of entres, and a dessert. (The day we were there, there were two desserts.) A sign leading to the place says "Pizzeria" - they do have pizza and AMAZING homemade short rope-y pasta - but they have a whole lot more. A friend had tagliatelle in cuttlefish sauce.
They're pretty new - less than a year old. So if you're anywhere in the neighborhood - GO! Worth a special trip.
