Allnightathon - The Plan (I think!)

Vital Information | Oct 22, 200308:12 PM

This Saturday is the Allnightathon, a 13 hour* adventure from 8 PM to 8 AM to explore only Chicago's late night world. Here is the rough draft of the final plan (or is that the final plan of the rough draft?). I need input!

Based on my experience in a-thoning, I have a basic idea of how to set this up. The idea is to have a few fixed points, and then a range of flexibility around those points. The FIXED POINTS will be in CAPS. The fixed points will be the easiest ways to meet up with the crew.

8 PM - MEET AT JIMMY'S WOODLAWN TAP in Hyde Park (1172 E. 55th). There should be awaiting you, assorted goodies from Lem's BBQ.

From Jimmy's we will continue south to Queen of the Sea, a 24 hour soul buffet (8701 S. Stoney Island) and from there probably Dat Donuts. (8429 S. Cottage Grove)

Then, perhaps a quick detour thru Little Village (Taquerias Atotonilco, 3916 West 26th Street), a drink at Miller's Pub in the Loop--parking permitting and some "cabbie" stuff along Orleans.

11:30 PM - SILVER SEAFOOD (4829 N. Broadway)

12:30 or so - Green Mill Lounge (across the street of Silver Seafood)

1:30 or so - Jeri's Grill (Western and Montrose) for some biscuts and coffee.

We will continue west on Montrose to Kedzie stopping at whatever looks good, and then head north on Kedzie to Lawrence with the idea of hitting an Assyrian place and/or something Korean.

From here, we will head back south. Ms. VI really, really wants to fit in River Kwai, but we might have to head straight to Kevin's Hamburger Heaven (554 W. Pershing). Gosh, if we area really needing to take up time, we will push further SW on Archer to Miami Bowl and Huck Finn donuts.

Jim's Original now on that wierd street O'Brien (700 S.) near the expressway.

Either Eppel's or the White Palace Grill (1159 S. Canal) or the White Palace like thing on Madison.

Please respond ASAP with any obvious mistakes, ommissions, corrections, etc. Also, if you have not re-confirmed via e-mail, please do so soon. I need to finalize the driving plans.

*Remember, we get an extra hour as we "fall back"
