Posted a message on May 2nd and got some great feedback. Here is an account of my weekend in ABQ.
I have my aunt take me straight to Chen's (235 Juan Tabo), and it is delicious as usual. I had the affordable lunch special: sweet and sour pork. Mmm. My aunt tells me that Chow's is also quite good...
We skipped over to Cold Stone Creamery, a pretty decent national dessert chain in my opinion.
That night I ate a Hilton-catered dinner at her graduation banquet. I had sirloin and greens. Mine was luckily cooked through, whereas others' I saw were still mooing. I do not recommend Hilton catering, although the cheesecake was decent.
Thanks to Chowhound, I went to Don Hermanos for breakfast and had a burrito that kicked my ass---wonderful! I had it with chorizo and green chili, which was just spicy enough...
Lunch was at Frontier Restaurant near campus. Tortilla soup was decent, as was my beef soft taco and homemade lemonade.
Dinner was Sadie's. I wanted Los Cuates, but was overruled. Sadie's was nice though. Had fun mixing honey with Salsa, and my low-key entre was a well-done burger wrapped in a tortilla with cheese, bacon and green chili. We of course had warm, fresh sopopias (sp?).
My friend's family had a graduation party for her, catered by Garcia's. It wasn't on my list, but it was quite tasty. Of course, when you go so long without New Mexican food, it all tastes good!
Later that day, we stopped by the Chili Addict on the way to the airport, where I picked up some green chili (noticing a trend?---I love green chili!) and some Red Chili jam, which I hear is good with cream cheese on toast.
Thanks for the advice again, all! Los Cuates is on my list for next time. My original message is pasted below, and you can go to my May 2nd posting to see the responses.
Cheers from Chicago!

Hello ABQ hounds!
Greetings from Chicago. I frequent the board every time I travel, and am never disappointed!
Thought I would show you what I found on the board so far, so that you can persuade me one way or the other. I am only in Albuquerque for three days, so I really only have time for a few of these restaurants...
Charlies Front and Back Door
Camino Real de Ron
Dos Hermanos New Mexican Food
Duran Central Pharmacy
El Patio de Albuquerque
Los Cuates Del Norte New Mexican Foods
Sadies Dining Room
I usually frequent Chen's when I am there, but I don't recall which one is better..?
Chens Chinese Food Restaurant
-235 Juan Tabo Boulevard Northeast
-132 Juan Tabo Boulevard Northeast
And I remember liking Quarters as a little kid, but is it really good BBQ? And which one would you recommend, if so...?
-4516 Wyoming Boulevard Northeast
-801 Yale Boulevard Southeast
Anything fantastic at the airport? Just asking...
And last, but not least, I am a sausage fanatic---living in Chi-town has made me so. Please pass comments along about Top Dog, and let me know if there's a better place for a dog or a sausage:
Top Dog, 4711 Menaul Boulevard Northeast
Thanks---and keep up the great work!!
