Walking back to my car from Cafe Raj, I noticed the sign for Mitchell Ice Cream. They have about a dozen flavors including Mexican chocolate and Ube (no catelope though).
Interesting little shop that is SO in the wrong neighborhood. There's sixteen flavors of bubble tea including sesame with black bean.
I found a single review of the place on the web that really nails the place (link below). It realy does have a rather cool selection of Asian candies including some fascinating bubble gum.
The place invites haning out with couches and kitchen tables. As the link says retro cool.
They have hot gigner, brown rice tea, green tea and white tea ... and rootbeer floats. There's a tamarind cold drink and smoothies which include avacado.
Limited salads and sandwiches though they say you can choose a pumpkin seed roll. Pasteries doen't seem to be a strong point, but everything else looks fun.
People in this area must like ice cream as Eunice Gourment is a few doors down selling the Latest Scoop gelato. Burger Depot across from the Albany theatre serves about 30 types of Bud's ice cream. I have never seen anyone in Burger Depot, but they do have an impressive list of sandwiches including a lamb burger.
