Alan Wong's-The Odd Saga Continues

Bob Foster | Mar 6, 2004 11:24 AM

After I posted my note here about the far less than special service (but great food) we received at Alan Wong's a couple of weeks ago, someone posted the electronic feedback form from the restaurant's web site. I filled it out and sent it in. (Word for word my post to Chowhounds-with a tag line asking if anyone cared that they had lost a former regular customer) This is where it gets odd. I had indicated that we were with another couple but never named them. I gave Wong's my name, address and phone number. On Thursday, the other couple, got an apology letter from Wong's with a statement that the charge to the credit "cards" would be reversed. (We split the cost of the dinner onto two different credit cards.) I've heard nothing from Wong's...no letter...no credit card entry....but the other couple, who didn't complain got a letter and a refund. Perhaps my letter of apology has simply been delayed in the mail, perhaps the credit is working its way through the VISA system. But, once again, it strikes me that I just don't understand the thought process of the folks running the Alan Wong empire. I wasn't een looking to get my $$ back, I was trying to tell them they had a problem. Ah well...

If there are further devlopments, I will post.
