We're excited to report great food on the Upper East Side! We've been to Aigo on 1st Ave. (83/84)(where La Fourchette and then Merchants used to be) twice in 2 weeks since it opened last month and had great meals both times. The food is unusual Mediterranean Spanish/Greek/Moroccan combinations. We especially loved the scallop with beet salad appetizer. The garlic soup is also great. The food is interesting and adventurous, the deserts are creative and be sure to try the fiery nut mix at the bar. Their service needs some work but hopefully that will be smoothed out soon.
