I have been reading up on African cuisine and wonder if y'all can help me compile a complete list of ALL the African restaurants (even the holes-in-the-wall, or specially the holes-in-the-wall) in Chicago (excluding in this case representatives of the better-known Algerian/Tunisian/Moroccan/Ethiopian/Eygptian cuisines) so that I can start investigating them one by one and perhaps post some results (did a search on Chowhound//didn't seem to yield much).
I know there is one around Lawrence and Broadway: that's Senegalese, isn't it? Then there's the place on Sheridan close to the el stop (practically under the el). Then a Nigerian (?) place on Clark at Lawrence. Then I caught a glimpse of a completely new (?) place while I was on the Devon bus going west (it's on the north side of the street). Any insights or reviews about these places?
Any groceries catering to Africans? I know that Chicago has quite a few residents with attachments to subtropical Africa bec I see these tall, handsome women in their splendid headdresses and robes shopping on Sat or Sun mornings on Argyle...
Thanks in advance
