I have never, ever used a broiler in my life. I have a standard-issue cheap gas oven, and find myself both drawn to, and afraid of, its infernal bottom.
The post below re. an easy banana recipe, which sounds excellent, has got me thinking.
1. Are there any GREAT but EASY recipes for broiler-cooked food you'd like to share? Savory, sweet, whatever.
2. How time sensitive is the broiling process? Are we talking seconds?
3. Is it worth the hassle? Do you pretty much HAVE TO burn a few dishes before you get the hang of it?
I hate carbonized food...
