ADVICE FOR FIRST TIME VISITORS ON A BUDGET

RICHARD | Feb 7, 2004 03:20 PM

MY WIFE AND I ARE PLANNING TO VISIT NEW ORLEANS FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THE END OF MARCH. WE HAVE RESERVATIONS AT A BED AND BREAKFAST "THE CHIMES" UPTOWN ON CONSTANTINOPLE STREET. I HAVE BEEN CHECKING THIS BULLETIN BOARD FREQUENTLY TO GET AN IDEA OF THE RESTAURANT SCENE AND WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR ALL THE INFO I HAVE GAINED FROM READING THEIR POSTS. AS WE ARE ON A BUDGET I HAVE BEEN MOST INTERESTED IN MODERATELY PRICED RESTAURANTS WITH GREAT FOOD. WE ARE ALSO CONSIDERING LUNCH AT COMMANDER'S PALACE AND THE EARLY DINNER AT BRIGSTEN'S. WE LIKE TO BIKE AROUND TO GET TO KNOW NEW PLACES. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR YOUR OPINIONS AS TO WHETHER IT WOULD BE SAFE BIKE FROM OUR ACCOMODATIONS TO THE FRENCH QUARTER DURING THE DAY AND LUNCH \DINNER RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE AREA WE WILL BE STAYING. LOOKING FOWARD TO YOUR RESPONSES.
