My wife and I are visiting in August and are looking for some help. We have assembled a list of what we want to eat while we are there but are wondering if anyone could offer suggestions for things that might be harder to find just searching Chowhound or Eater. For example, I stumbled across the praline filled beignets at Loretta's. That's not the kind of thing that most New Orleans guides list but they sound delicious. We are staying in the Garden District so anything around there that is good would be helpful as well.
We are also trying to pick our three dinners. During the day we plan to mostly eat wherever we are and we have assembled a list from posts here and other places. However, we are struggling with dinner. One night we want to do N7 and Bacchanal and the other two nights we want to make reservations somewhere. We are trying to choose between Cochon, Compere Lapin, Herbsaint, and Shaya. I don't know if there is any real way to choose but if anyone has any thoughts I would love to hear them.
Thanks so much! This board has been incredibly helpful already.
