Adventures in Hipster Service

Haeldaur | Jan 3, 201512:53 PM

Thought it might be a fun thread for people to describe their most amusing, ahem, modern service interactions. I have two recent, good ones from Gjusta to get the thread started.

Example 1:

Two weeks ago, I went in at breakfast, and asked one of the servers what his favorite breakfast option was. He proceeds to go into a spiel that goes something like this:

"My personal favorite is our version of a bagel, we call it a Bialy." Thank god for Gjusta inventing the bialy. I also hear they have a special version of an inside out pizza they have named the "calzone."

Example 2:

Again at Gjusta (this place...). I ordered a falafel sandwich, which took 39 minutes from the time I ordered because the new employee who took the order forgot to close it out in their system. Eh, shit happens, no biggie right? Manager asks me if I would like "some cookies or brownies" for the wait. I say sure, and he walks over with me to the cookie and brownie jar. He asks me to pick something I'd like. I point to the blondie, at which point he informs me that I can't have that because he said "cookies or brownies" and that is actually a blondie, so it wasn't within his offer.

Anyone else have some good ones?
