We went to the new theater at Legacy Place (wait for Taking Woodstock to show up on HBO) and had time to kill, unfortunately Aquitaine still has work to do (as do most of the shops there) and PF Chang's was jammed, so we sat at the counter of the 50's Diner. Who were having old car nite, some beauties outside. We didn't want to eat too much so ordered two raspberry lime rickies and a cheeseburger w/ fries to split. I heard her ask if we wanted a side and said no, didn't hear her say there was a splitting charge (but my friend did). Burger was much less than the medium ordered, pretty standard fries, it was fine. I thought oh look, they nicely split the plate for us but when the bill came, it was $2.50 extra of course cuz I hadn't heard her. I just think it's a stupid charge. What if I just wanted a drink and ended up eating half the plate, would they tack it on? We could have easily (and expected to) cut our own burger and split the fries. Plus we would have been out of there even quicker had the food come out faster, so we're not wasting seats for them. Whatever, I find it a needless charge.
BTW, a small cone at JP Licks is now $3.98 w/ tax. Yowzer. When will they cross the $4 mark? And the seasonal peach flavor didn't have one piece of fruit in it.
