I-5 Hilt CA / OR-CA Stateline

Discovered a great hamburger at the Texaco truckstop at Hilt, CA. Located about 2 miles south of the Oregon-California stateline on I-5, Hilt is a former logging town where sugar pines (2nd only to the sequoia in height)were wiped out making boxes for the CA fruit industry.
The "Pilot Rock" (a local landmark) burger is close relative of the In-n-Out double with a crispier finish to the meat. Passable fries & shakes, but the burger is worth the stop. They also offer a "Lotto" burger which adds salami and cheese. I was able to resist this embellishment.
