My girlfriend and I have 5 nights in Rome in Sant'Angelo/Regola near the fontana della tartarughe.
For our days in Rome I'm looking to do primarily casual restaurants where we will be eating with locals. I'm looking to get in a variety of Roman cuisine. My primary goal is to just eat the best food Rome has to offer, without breaking the bank. One complication: my partner who I'm traveling with has celiac, so there needs to be gluten free options for the bigger meals.
We will probably do 2-3 "nicer" restaurants. Would love to get opinions on the best bang for your buck. We don't care about the food presentation as much as we care about the food tasting the best. If the presentation of the food is spectacular too, that's great! We do love interesting, more modern food and I imagine that the "nicer" restaurants we pick will probably be more modern.
Would also appreciate any recs for snacks, gelato, bars, etc.
From there we have 3 days in Bologna. Then we have 5 days in Tuscany. We'll be staying near Castelfranco. We'll have a car for that portion of the trip.
If you have any recs for those places (or surrounding area) as well, would love to get those!
Thank you so much!
