Just wanted to say thanks to all Bay Area CHowhounds
for your interesting discussions/comments.After spending lots of time reading your posts, I was able
to zero in on restaurants for our recent first-time trip to the area. Our experiences included dinners in SF at Myth(everything was excellent!) and Antica Trattoria(their risotto and braised duck dishes were to die for). Enjoyed nibbling our way around the farmer's market/Ferry Building on Saturday.
Also dinner at Passionfish near Monterey and lunch at
Post Ranch Inn on the way to Big Sur.(the food was
equal to the view) And dinners at Zin, Ravenous and Santi in Healdsburg area. And of course, making a meal out of stuff picked up at Oakville Grocery.
Every one of these experiences was outstanding. It's
hard to pick a favorite. Anyway thanks to all for
your reports.
