4-H pork at PHX Bashas' markets

Early this Sunday morning, after a brisk walk, DH & I needed to pick up a couple of items for a supper party this evening so we headed to our neighborhood Bashas' grocery store. In the meat dept, I saw several cuts of pork displayed that are not normally available - round steak, side meat, etc. I asked the butcher about this and he replied that after the county fair they always get a couple of pigs and can cut them as they choose. With luck, there may be county fair lamb on the way as well. You can bet that I'll be calling them on Monday to find out. Heads up to those who like good meat, it may be just around the corner. Just thought you-all ought to know.

I fried some of the side meat for breakfast and cooked my Friday Farmers' Market eggs in the same pan. With feather biscuits to mop up all the wonderful juices, it was a wonderful breakfast!

Note: when you're early on a Sunday morning, you cannot buy Grand Marnier so I'll need a return trip. I don't particularly love this bit of Arizona Big Brother saving me from my evil impulses (to get roaring drunk before 10 AM on Sunday morning???). Sheeeeesh!
