One 3 Michelin Star Dinner Tasting Menu in Paris

zabritt | Aug 21, 201810:47 AM     7

Hi Chowhounds,

Will be in Paris over Labor Day Weekend and want to take my father to one over the top luxurious 3 star restaurant for the first time. Cost in not an issue. Much has been written about Paris' three star michelin restaurants, but most of the reviews and literature I have found dated, unhelpful and subpar I am torn between Le Cinq, Astrance, Pre-Catalan, Guy Savoy, and Alain Ducasse. I ate at Le Cinq a few years ago, before Le Squer, and it is still the best meal I have ever had, even after eating at 25 or so restaurants that annually make the top 100. Critics and diners seem to have such great things to say about Barbot and Astrance and Pre-Catalan, and the pedigree and menus of Savoy and Ducasse look fantastic, although I am confused how Ducasse's tasting menu operates as it is only five courses. Others have mentioned Alleno's tasting menu has exceeded expectations, though he receives mixed reviews online. The dining room at Ducasse looks stunningly beautiful much like Le Cinq's dining room. Thoughts, recommendations, and opinions are very much appreciated.
