If my memory serves me right, I organized my first Hong Kong chowmeet at a Wan Chai Private Kitchen about 9 years ago. With a blink of the eye, this above captioned Chowmeet will mark the 9th such events I have organized since that eventful night.
However, the chowmeet this time has a slight twist! Since, during the crucial planning period, I was away in Singapore enjoying the kind hospitality of my friends and relatives and at the same time enduring the torturous heat and humidity. A good foodie friend here in town, with valuable connection to the restaurant and chef, was so kind as to step in, take up and slack and help in the organizing and finalization of this wonderful event.
The result, a most enjoyable evening of fine wine, excellent food and great company!
Since the infamous author of the food blog " Diary of a Growing Boy " was present in the meet, no doubt he will post a much more precise review of the food.....which I will then share with you all.
However, I would like to point out that the service we received on that night was one of the most courteous, attentive and professional I have encountered amongst Chinese restaurants here in town. The way the serve staff managed to remember all the names of the attendees and address us accordingly was a nice touch!
Lastly, a great thank you to fellow hounds HKTraveller and Peech whose wine they brought along were fantastic and matched perfectly with most dishes!
I have enclosed copy of the menu. Photos and order of food should coincide.
