2 girls, 4 days, too many choices

souixie | Sep 13, 201512:55 PM     65

So....the dads have graciously stepped up and my friend and I are flying down to NYC for four days of eating, drinking and playing. She has (gasp) never been to the city. We're staying in the West Village and getting in crazy early on a Friday morning and heading out late Monday night. This is a trip I usually take solo or with my husband and kids. I normally like to fly by the seat of my pants, but I want to have some loose plans since I feel somewhat responsible for showing her a good time. The only planned activities are 9/11 Memorial and a Broadway show.

Looking for:

Lunch recommendations on Friday down towards Memorial. Nothing fancy. Good food and beer selection.

Friday evening Happy Hour...anywhere below midtown

Any of the "secret" speakeasies worth going to?

One "nice" dinner. Probably Saturday night. Anywhere...we'll just plan our evening around it. Something that screams NYC, without being a tourist spot.

Dim sum?

Lunch near Broadway. Hope to see a matinee.

Thanks in advance....3 weeks to go!

Suzy
