1789 Summer Sizzler: A report

Just wanted to let all chowhounds know that I went to 1789 and took part in their $35 summer special and I highly recommend it. The promotion runs through July and you can order any appetizer, entree, and dessert for $35. There is a $10 extra charge if you order rack of lamb (my husband did and it was well worth it!), but that was the only exception.
Both my husband and I had the crab cake appetizer and it was delicious with fried potato sticks and coleslaw. As an entree, I had the scallops, which were large and perfectly sweet, paired with a shitake mushroom and mango blend that really worked. As I said, my husband had the rack of lamb that was just wonderful. For dessert, I had a chocolate, peanut butter torte that was surprisingly light and delicious, and husband had a blueberry cobbler with brown sugar ice cream that was incredible.
All in all, a very enjoyable evening, wonderful service, and a great price too! Of course, with wine, cocktails, and tip, the bill was closer to $150, but it is still a great deal, IMO.
