Charles Nob Hill - Located in the first floor of an apartment building on the north side of Nob Hill, this was the location of one of the absolutely best meals I have ever had. I chose the six course tasting menu with matched wine parings. Each course was a masterpiece of texture, taste and presentation with the wines providing a perfect compliment. Service was professional and beyond reproach with several folks in white tuxedos orchestrating the appearance and disappearance of items in a perfect ballet. It cost $165 for one, and was worth every penny. My only complaint was having to listen to the couple at the next table whine about how bitchy their former spouses had been and what they were going to do when they back to the hotel after such a fine dinner. The chef when I was there was Ron Siegel, who is now at Masa's. I haven't been back to see how the replacement chef is doing. I suppose this experience is a recommendation for Masa's - someplace I haven't been -- but for CBH it is: No recommendation.
