These are served at DELUXE FOOD MARKET ( 79 Elizabeth 212-925-5766).
This huge chinese super market ( stretching from Elizabeth to Mott ) has a food court at the entrance on Elizabeth, and this is a really fun place to chow.
There is a huge steam table that has lots and lots of food - from the steamed buns (meat&veg ),pancakes, crullers to the " three meals & rice for $2.75 " buffet.Everything is pretty good, but the best thing here is that they sell the peking duck by a roll!! And it's only $1.00!!This is certainly not the best peking duck in NY, but it's really decent for the price. It has a good portion of a piece of duck, scallions, cucumbers. If you've never tried this stuff, this is a good start. You don't have to pay for a whole bird.
Also, the small kitchen that is located right side of the entrance makes a freshly made fish ball soup. They literally start to make fresh fish ball from scratch right in front of your eyes.A bowl of this soup is $2.75.And this kitchen makes a very good sweet peanut dessert soup too. They serve this soup from the pot that keeps simmering for hours. It's really hot and has a complex flavor of chenese herbs.Very sweet.
And a good news for dragon beard candy lovers. This kitchen makes this candy. You don't have to wait for the guy on grand st until summer time.
This market also sells the best quality meat products in china town.
