We tested and re-tested many incarnations of our veggie burger to come to the conclusion that we've finally landed on the best-tasting recipe you could make at home. Our stab at the perfect formula includes vegetables, sunflower seeds, brown rice, and mushrooms. Don't be put off by the first ingredient and give up before you begin. TVP, or textured vegetable protein, meaning soy (why don't they just say that?), should be found as dried flakes in the grocery store, possibly in a bulk food section. Once you locate that part, the rest isn't too bad. Sure, there are a lot of ingredients, but you could make extra burgers and freeze them for easy dinners in the future, a la Garden Burger or Boca Burger style.
