As American as German Chocolate Cake

Our German Chocolate Cake is named after the type of chocolate it contains: German's Sweet Chocolate, which was created by English-American Samuel German for Walter Baker & Company in 1852. He added sugar to and decreased the cocoa butter content of his employer's dark, unsweetened baking chocolate and the resulting bar was named after him. The current formula is 48% cacao, sweeter than semisweet chocolate but significantly darker than milk.
