Cholita Linda, a stand that regularly appears at the Jack London Square farmers’ market in Oakland but has yet to settle into a brick-and-mortar location, ignited discussion among hounds this week.

Started by a California native with a Peruvian-Chinese mother and Mexican-Cuban father, Cholita Linda specializes in chicken and fish tacos prepared with a Latin American view and California ingredients. The fish tacos drew praise ’round these parts; grayelf called them “the best ‘Baja Style’ version I have tried outside of Baja.” neega, a regular at the Jack London Square market, doesn’t like fish tacos in general but thinks this deep-fried tilapia version with red sauce and crema fresca is excellent.
