Momofuku-land is on the move. The original Momofuku Milk Bar resettled last month in larger quarters across 13th Street, and Momofuku Ssäm Bar quickly spread out into the vacant Milk Bar space.

Also on the move at Ssäm Bar is roast Long Island duck, spun slowly on a brand-new rotisserie and served at lunchtime. fooder, who tried it over rice with greens, says it’s spectacular: tender, juicy meat, cooked to perfect pinkness, in crisp skin. It reminds him of good Chinese-style barbecued duck, though not as sweet. He also happily devoured the rice and greens, which get a delicious drenching of drippings. In addition to the rice plate, the duck comes in sandwiches (with peppers, spicy mayo, and a smear of duck-liver mousse) or with lettuce and chive pancakes for wrapping.

RGR, who ranks the roasted duck up there with the high-end version at Eleven Madison Park, adds that Ssäm Bar’s duck dumpling soup is also fantastic, boasting a tasty minced duck filling, tender skins, and deeply flavorful broth. New side dishes include broccoli salad with smoked eel vinaigrette and bits of crisp rendered duck skin, “a nice, lighter green to go with all the animal fat,” says beetlebug.
