At The Landing, Vienna Beef franks are “dragged through the garden,” as they say—that is, decked out with chopped onion, tomato, pickle spears, and peppers. Seasoned with yellow mustard, sweet relish, and a sprinkling of celery salt, they’re served in a Mary Ann poppy seed bun, the way they should be. Many New Yorkers just don’t get the Second City’s salad-on-a-bun, but the once-skeptical scooter says The Landing’s version is fantastic and beautifully spiced, “the only C-dog I’ve ever had that made any damn sense.”
