As if the dour, grumpy bastards who populate Boston didn’t have enough problems: Now one of their best-known cheese shops is closing down just because the owner happens to be a made man. Fresh Cheese, owned by Carmen “The Cheeseman” DiNunzio, will shut down sometime before its owner heads to prison in late September. DiNunzio, Boston’s reputed former Mafia godfather, has submitted “guilty pleas to state extortion and gaming and federal bribery charges, the latter involving a plot to scam the Big Dig.”
