The Financial District is a known postapocalyptic wasteland of bad food, but Wheels1 has uncovered a divine Italian sub at Casa Razdora, a new deli opened up by a nice couple. “For just under 7 bucks you get a monstrous tasty sandwich on fresh baked crunchy bread. Every ingredient was sliced fresh onto the sandwich and the cold cuts were top notch,” says Wheels1.
devilham concurs, lauding the “remarkably thin” sliced meat, a rarity, as well as the very thinly sliced onions and tomatoes, and the baked-from-scratch roll. “All in all it was a very good sandwich, even though it came to $9.35 with a drink, I stll felt I got a great value due to the high quality.”
Apparently, the store’s owners have seen the Chowhound post on the shop, and are delighted with the attention—but Bob Dobalina warns that on his visit, the sub was premade, possibly due to the sudden influx of customers looking to try the sandwich. Order something freshly made instead, as the sandwich suffers from sitting. If you don’t go for the Italian, tysonmcneely says the prosciutto with mozzarella, tomato, and basil is fantastic: “a solid amount of prosciutto, and the bread was very good, crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside.”
