The Shake Shack, which draws long lines of burger-lovers to Madison Square Park, is poised to do the same thing uptown. Its eagerly awaited second location just opened on Columbus Avenue, and it seems the owners were smart enough not to mess with the winning formula. Cpalms says that the signature Shackburger was “deliciously identical to the original, pretty much everything was.” Fries are also up to Shack standards—“very crispy and hot,” JMJD reports, “and maybe even better than they are downtown.”

Shack newbie snaporaz understands what all the fuss has been about—for one thing, a flavorful patty whose robust beefiness stands up to the mysterious “Shack Sauce”—but is just as impressed by the bun: “I have never tasted a hamburger bun quite like that, toothsome and tender without being doughy, with the right amount of give.” kathryn spills the secret: They’re Martin’s Potato Rolls from Pennsylvania, brushed with butter and toasted.
